Ceremonial documents are issued to recognize people, places, or events that have had or made a positive contribution or impact in Fort Bend County – Precinct 4. The office issues certificates of recognition or proclamations.
Examples of Certificate Causes
- Ribbon cutting ceremonies for businesses
- Individual accomplishments
- Moments of celebration such as graduating from high school, becoming an Eagle Scout, etc.
Examples of Proclamation Causes
- Civic celebrations
- Organizations or individuals who have made a positive contribution or impact in Fort Bend County – Precinct 4
- Significant events or anniversaries of institutions or people (e.g., significant birthdays starting at 50 and thereafter, house of worship anniversaries, etc.)
- Retirements
- Funerals
Ceremonial documents will not be issued if:
- The request promotes a campaign, event, ideological, and/or political belief(s) that is/are contrary to the policies or laws of Fort Bend County – Commissioner Precinct 4.
- The request is for commercial/for-profit purposes.
- The request conflicts with federally recognized months, weeks, or days of observance.
- The request takes a side/position regarding international disputes or is a subjective statement of ideology.
- The request is for an event that is tentative but has not yet been confirmed.
This form serves as a request for a Proclamation and fourteen (14) business days are required prior to the date the Proclamation is issued unless there are unforeseen circumstances such as death. Fort Bend County – Precinct 4 reserves the right to approve or deny a request and retains full editing rights.
